VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
is to manage and regulate the use of areas designated as National Parks. The
Organisation currently manages fifteen National Parks which form part of larger
protected ecosystems set aside to preserve Tanzania’s rich natural heritage. In
her endeavour to promote professionalism, the organisation seeks to recruit high
caliber, results oriented and self driven professionals with integrity to fill the
following posts:
1. Geographic Information System (GIS) Officers (3 Posts)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Respective Chief Park Wardens
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Geoinformation Science with strong bias in
Geographic Information System. Possession of Postgraduate
Diploma in Natural Resources, Environmental Management or
Wildlife Management will be an added advantage. Must be
computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least two years work experience in the relevant field.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Capturing, editing and maintaining spatial and attribute data
from the National Parks and surrounding areas using GIS
software
Disseminating digital data by exporting to various formats and
completion of associated documentation.
Producing hard copy output in the form of maps/plans to
support Park management and ecological monitoring functions

Maintaining special purpose GIS spatial and attribute databases
needed for the Parks.
Maintaining GIS data on the organization intranet as assigned.
Providing guidance and training on GIS and Geodatabase to
supporting staff.
(iv) Age limit: : Not above 35 years of age

2. Assistant Park Ecologists (10 Posts)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Park Ecologists
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Diploma in Wildlife Management from the College of African
Wildlife Management, Mweka or any other recognized training
institution. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Collecting ecological monitoring data;
Assisting in conducting ecological researches;
Assisting in monitoring effects of human activities and
infrastructure development on the environment
Collecting data of animal stocks and biodiversity;
Liaising with veterinary officers in monitoring diseases;
Participating in research conducted by external researchers;
Assisting in environmental impact assessment;
Participating in the implementation of Fire Management Plans
Participating in animal censuses and bird counts
Assisting in controlling pollution and exotic species (flora and
fauna);
Preparing field reports;
Entering various collected data in departmental database; and
Any other relevant duties as assigned by superior

3. Animal Health Technician Grade II (5 Posts)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Respective Park Veterinary Officers
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Form IV certificate with a certificate in Livestock Health from a
recognised institution. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least three years working experience in the related field.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Keeping cleanliness and safety of laboratory supplies,
reagents and equipments;
Preparing equipment and reagents for laboratory
investigations;
Keeping record of on going experiments;
Performing laboratory investigations;
Preparing reagents for laboratory investigations;
Collecting samples from the field;
Maintaining proper and up to date records of all samples;
and
Performing any other related duties that may be assigned by
superior.
(iv) Age limit: : Not above 35 years of age
(v) Salary Scale TNPSS C
4. Laboratory Technologist (1 Post)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Respective Park Veterinary Officer
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Diploma in Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution.
Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least two years working experience in the related field.

(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:

5. Tourism Promotion Officers Grade II (5 Posts)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Respective Chief Park Warden
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Degree in Tourism, Commerce or Business Administration
(Marketing Option). Candidates with Diploma or Postgraduate
Diploma in Wildlife Management will have an added advantage.
Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience
At least three years working experience in the related field
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing tourism promotion plans and materials;
Guiding visitors during park visits;
Overseeing commercial filming in the parks
Ensuring that tourists abide to the park’s regulations;
Advising on activities that require promotion that may attract
more visitors to the Parks;
Advising park management in the development of new tourism
products;
Conducting surveys on tourism products;
Participating in promotional activities;
Preparing periodic reports on tourism activities in parks.

Participating in designing park tourist circuits, trails, picnic
sites, campsites and other related services in the Park;
Participating in the preparation of GMPs / EIAs
Protecting and conserving park resources; and
Other relevant duties as may be assigned by superior.
(iv) Age limit: : Not above 35 years of age.
(v) Salary Scale: TNPSS E
6. Principal Marketing Officers (1 Post)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Manager Tourism Services
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Business Administration
(Marketing/International Business Option). Possession of
Postgraduate Diploma in Wildlife Management will be an added
advantage. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least eight years of working experience in the related field.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Informing tour operators and hotel service providers on
changing on tariffs and fees in advance and sensitise them on
the need for changes;
Preparing and disseminate information materials;
Training for marketing staff and equipping them with
appropriate skills
Preparing and implementing of a marketing plan;
Carrying out market studies from within and outside the
country;
Coordinate and participate in international tourism shows;
Conducting visitor’s satisfaction and needs surveys and
make use of results to develop promotion materials and
strategies;
Developing an internal market;
Collaborating with other wildlife institutions to share
visitor’s experiences in terms of needs and wants;
Monitoring fee structure in neighbouring countries and set
user fees that are competitive, in order to attract visitors to
Tanzania Parks;

Exploiting all tourism income-generating opportunities and
prepare project proposals in collaboration with the planning
department;
Conducting performance appraisal to the staff directly
reporting to his/her department; and
Performing any other duties related to the field.

7. Graphic Designer Grade II (1Post)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Commercial Services Manager
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design from a recognized training
institution. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least three years working experience in the related field.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Developing layout and production design of magazines,
newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other
publications.
Producing promotional displays, packaging, and marketing
brochures for products and services;
Designing distinctive logos for products and businesses, and
developing signs and signage systems;
Developing material for internet, web pages, interactive media,
and multimedia projects;
Determining the clients’ needs to meet their demands;
Considering cognitive, cultural, physical, and social factors in
planning and executing designs for the target audience;
Identifying the needs of consumers;
Developing corporate desktop strategies in addition to creating
designs and layouts;
Supervising junior staff in the desktop section;

Developing new business contacts, choosing equipment,
reviewing catalogues and ordering samples;
Ensuring up-to-date computer and communications equipment;
Any other relevant duties assigned by the superior.

8. Assistant Graphic Designer (1 Post)
Reporting Relationship : Reports to Graphic Designer Grade II
Duty Station : National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Diploma in Graphic Design from a recognized training institution.
Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least two years work experience in the relevant field.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Developing layout and production design of magazines,
newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other publications.
Producing promotional displays, packaging, and marketing
brochures for products and services;
Gathering relevant information by meeting with clients by
performing market research;
Creating graphs and charts from data for use in publications,
and they often consult with copywriters on any text that
accompanies the design;
Presenting the completed design to clients;
Any other relevant duties assigned by the superior.

(v) Salary Scale: TNPSS D
9. Office Supervisor (1 Post)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Administrative Manager
Duty Station: National Parks

(i) Qualifications:
Diploma in Records Management from Tanzania Public Service
College or any recognized institution.
(ii) Experience:
At least eighty years working experience in the related field. Must
be Computer literate.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting Human Resources and Administrative Officer in
organizing and supervising office support services;
Assisting in supervising work schedules for clerical and
messengerial staff;
Advising on the development and implementation of
proper records management; and
Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time by
Superior.
(iv) Age limit: Not above 45 years of age
(v) Salary Scale: TNPSS D
10. Principal Human Resources and Administrative Officer (2 Posts)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Human Resources Manager/ Administrative
Manager
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Human Resources Management, Public
Administration or Business Administration (Human Resources
Management Option) or equivalent qualifications from a recognized
institution. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least eight years working experience in a related field.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaising with labour institutions, and trade unions in matters related
to industrial relations;

Undertaking manpower planning of the organization;
Facilitating and coordinating workers council;
Coordinating the implementation of annual performance appraisals;
Participating in the review of schemes of service, organization
structure, staff regulations, and staff establishment;
Ensuring timely payment of terminal benefits to respective staff;
Interpreting staff circulars, directives, and other personnel policies;
Dealing with personnel matters including recruitment, promotion and
salary administration;
Preparing training program and coordinating its implementation;
Dealing with transport, insurance and social security matters in the
organization;
Ensuring adequate insurance cover for TANAPA assets such as motor
vehicle, estates, marine, and aviation insurance;
Ensuring adequate maintenance, repair and upkeep of motor vehicles;
Ensuring proper implementation of sound staff welfare and health
policies; and
Performing any other duties that may be assigned by superior.

11. Park Rangers Grade IV (20 POSTS)
Reporting Relationship: Report to Park Wardens / Heads of Protection
Department in the Respective Parks
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Form IV Certificate with Basic Certificate in Wildlife Conservation from
Pasiansi Wildlife Conservation Training Institute. Candidates with
Certificate in basic military training from the National Service will be
considered for recruitment after a successful completion of a three months
field training conducted by TANAPA.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conducting patrol activities
• Providing guard services in the Park
• Receiving and sending radio messages during patrols
• Undertaking cleaning functions at the ranger posts
• Arresting offenders
• Attending cases/court hearings, giving evidence in wildlife
cases
• Participating in early fire burning and suppression activities
• Collecting information on unusual events and monitoring activities

• Writing patrol reports
• Participating in rescue operations.
(iv) Age limit: Not above 25 years of age
(v) Salary Scale : TANAPA 01
12. Records Management Assistant II (4 POSTS)
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Administrative Manager
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Form IV Certificate with a Certificate in Records Management from
Tanzania Public Service College or any recognized institution. Must be
computer literate.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Keeping file records using file index and file movement cards;
Registering and keeping record of incoming and outgoing mails and
parcels;
Sorting, classifying and boxing of records for official use;
Ensuring that responsible officers return files to the registry on time
after action (file movement monitoring);
Filing and forwarding letters to responsible officers;
Ensuring proper dispatching of outgoing mails;
Conducting daily marking of files;
Ensuring cleanliness and proper registry arrangement;
Ensuring proper handling of all classified documents;
Performing other related duties assigned by a superior;
(iv) Age limit: Not above 35 years of age
(v) Salary Scale: TNPSS B
13. Human Resources and Administrative Officer Grade II (1 POSTS)

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Administrative Manager/ Human
Resources Manager
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management or Public
Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Must be computer literate.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Compiling and updating personnel records/statistics;
Administering staff remuneration system;
Dealing with disciplinary matters of the junior staff and labour
disputes;
Updating and maintaining seniority list;
Ensuring availability of clean office accommodation at all times;
Ensuring availability of office equipment machines, their
maintenance and repair;
Supervising Drivers, Secretarial staff and Office/Park Attendants;
Providing office supervisory services;
Establishing and maintaining Human Resources and
Administrative records and information systems;
Ensuring adequate and timely transport services
Ensuring upkeep of offices and estates of the organization;
Dealing with matters of protocol at park level; and
Performing any other duties that may be assigned by superior

14. Senior Human Resource and Administrative Officer (1 POSTS)
Reporting Relationship: Human Resource/Administrative Manager
Duty Station: National Parks
(i) Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management or Public
Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Must be computer literate.

(ii) Experience
At least five years working experience in a related field in a reputable
organisation.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
Formulating and implementing induction programmes for new
employees;
Coordinating the identification of training needs for the
organization;
Preparing training plans and training programs for the
organization;
Liaising with trade unions and labour institutions on matters
related to industrial relations;
Facilitating meetings and conferences;
Supervising the upkeep of offices and contracted services;
Overseeing staff health services in liaison with designated
hospitals;
Ensuring smooth provision of office communication services
such as postage, telephone, internet and fax;
Ensuring smooth provision of reliable registry system and
record keeping, database;
Ensuring smooth provision of staff welfare services;
Ensuring up to date TANAPA staff regulations in line with
Public Service regulations;
Ensuring sound organizational administrative circulars,
directives and policies are in place and are followed;
Interpreting Government staff circulars, directives etc;
Maintaining and coordinating library services; and
Performing any other duties that may be assigned by superior
