The School of St Jude is a charity funded school that provides a FREE,
high-quality education to over 1,500 primary and secondary children from
the poorest communities in Arusha.
We are currently taking applications for an experienced Maintenance Manager role and a Fleet Manager.
Maintenance Manager
We are seeking a maintenance manager to oversee the maintenance operations of the school. The job involves the supervising a staff of around 25 fundi’s who help to keep the school running on a daily basis. These tasks will involve anything from minor building works through to electrical and plumbing installations and troubles shooting. Whilst hands on experience would be useful, the real challenge is to manage and organize the team on a day to day basis.
The school operates over three campuses, with in excess of 40 buildings to maintain, as well as water supply systems, electrical backup systems and waste disposal systems.
The successful applicant should have the following experience, skills and attributes:
* Fluent in Swahili and English
* Previous experience in managing a maintenance team
* Practical problem solving skills
* Strong inter-personal skills to work in collaboration with all other departments
* Highly organised with good computer skills
Fleet Manager
We are seeking a Fleet Manager to manage and maintain a fleet of 21 buses while supervising workshop staff and bus drivers.
As the Fleet manager you would be responsible for the daily running of the St Jude’s garage, ensuring all repairs and maintenance are done in a timely manner, ordering parts, scheduling buses daily and supervising a large team of garage staff and bus drivers.
The successful applicant should have the following experience, skills and attributes:
* Fluent in Swahili and English
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Mechanical knowledge
* Strong inter-personal skills to work in a team environment
* Highly organised with good computer skills
